In order to consider that a treatment
for prostate cancer is efficient, nadir PSA gives a good indication,
but the PSA stability is even more important: a low and stable
PSA level evidences the absence of cancerous disease (stability
being defined in accordance with the ASTRO criteria). In Munich,
104 T1-T2 patients(1) treated with the standard treatment
parameters are now available for PSA stability assessment
(at least 1 year follow-up): 88,9% of the patients were presenting
with a stable PSA level after Ablatherm. More than 60% of
the patients presented an undetectable nadir PSA after the
Ablatherm-HIFU treatment
